About us
Bridging the Gap Between Clinical Theory and Autistic Reality.
I’m Nic. I help autistic adults reclaim their energy, their health and their voice.
I am an autistic Occupational Therapist and the founder of Kintsugi OT. My work bridges clinical theory with the lived reality of neurodivergence.
For years, autism has been viewed through a deficit lens. Autistic people are taught to mask, comply and push through sensory discomfort until burnout becomes unavoidable.
I know this cycle because I have lived it.
Autism is not just about cognition. It is about how the body experiences the world. It is the cost of constant sensory input, manual regulation, boom and bust energy cycles and the invisible workload of living in environments not built for your nervous system.
Kintsugi OT exists as an antidote to the push through culture.
I work exclusively with autistic adults to dismantle masking, overextension and burnout. We do not aim for normal or compliance. We aim for safety, sustainability and nervous system stability.
My clinical approach is grounded in real world function. We move beyond generic strategies to work with your physiology, sensory profile and day to day demands.
Our work includes mapping energy patterns to prevent burnout, unmasking and rebuilding self advocacy and restoring trust in your limits.
I provide autistic specific work readiness and work sustainability assessments that focus on what work is realistic and safe. This includes sensory load, executive function demands, social expectations and disclosure decisions.
Sensory regulation goes beyond tools. We focus on nervous system regulation, environmental design and home and work modifications that reduce baseline overload.
Alongside clinical work, I am a writer, educator and autism advocate focused on improving how autistic adults are assessed and supported.
The human behind the practitioner matters. Regulation is a discipline, not a luxury. Outside of work, I live slowly and deliberately. You will usually find me at yoga, hiking or prioritising recovery.
If you are looking for an Occupational Therapist who combines clinical expertise with lived experience, I am here to help.
